Kristofferson, Mike Lukas and Les Paul have something in common.

Kris Kristofferson is an icon. He has been touring extensively with the Strangers since 2018. Mike Lukas has a very special Les Paul.

It was the 1 May 2018 ..

Scott Joss, songwriter and fiddler in the Strangers –the band that backed Merle Haggard and now Kris Kristofferson – was celebrating his birthday.

There was a joke, and it was on him – Good natured Scott enjoys a laugh as much as the rest of the guys. What caused the curfuffle? Well, it was Scott’s birthday, but it was Mike Lukas who got the spoils that year!

The gift that caused the giggle is super special – Partly because Scott autographed it along with Kris Kristofferson and the rest of the guys.

Mike tells the story, “My Les Paul was signed by Kris Kristofferson and the Strangers on 1 May 2018 in Melbourne, Florida. It was Scott’s birthday – and I still joke and remind him that I’m the one that left with a gift that year!”

Mike Lukas’ Les Paul was brand new when he had Kris and the Strangers signed it. He has never played it since. He says that he now has a $3,000 wall decoration …… Fans would consider that this treasure is worth a whole lot more – Memories like this are priceless.

The autographs are from Kris Kristofferson, Scott Joss, Doug Colosio, Ben Haggard and Noel Haggard. Jeff Ingraham autographed a drum …. But that’s a story for another day.
