Kris and Willie go back a long way. An autograph from one of the greats is a real treasure. Judy has an albu signed by TWO icons. She shares her signed photograph and her tale with us. There really is a story behind every autograph.
Kris and Willie often tease each other – It’s obvious to anyone watching them and listening to their banter that great fondness underlies their playful, sibling style rivalry.
Willie’s Wit
Southern Living chatted to Willie on his tour bus in Mississippi. At 83, he talked about living without worry, the rules he lives by, and why he loves music so passionately.
This was filmed many years after Willie signed Judy’s pic. It shows his undiminished playful nature, and might also add some insight into Kris’ behaviour on that day he met Judy.
Willie Sings Kristofferson Autograph
I think this was one autograph that Kris really enjoyed signing. Judy tells the story.
“Kris signed my Willie Sings Kristofferson album when he was in Louisville, KY. That was about thirty years ago now.”
“Kris was so cute – He acted as if he was going to sign it right on top of Willie’s face!”
Judy was horrified.
“I was like, “No!!!” – Kris laughed out loud at my reaction.”
There’s a bit more to this tale.
“I got to tell Willie the story (about Kris threatening to sign over Willie’s face!) when I had him sign the same album some years later.”
I would love to have been a fly on the wall on that day.
“I treasure this more than pretty much anything else I own. I’ve seen Willie around fifteen times, but I’ve only seen Kris twice.”
Judy’s youngest son wants her to leave this album to him one day. She thinks she raised him right.
