Casey Kristofferson, the daughter of Kris Kristofferson u0026amp; Rita Coolidge plays in a band called Yellow Feather. They released their debut album, And Gold, in November 2017.
I only heard about the album the album today via savingcountrymusic.com. I often wondered what Casey had been up to, especially after watching Kelly on stage with their Dad a few years back. I did some research tonight and I have the band playing on loop as I am writing this.

Listening is all I can do. I can neither read, write nor play music. That doesn’t matter so much, as I know what pleases my ears and my spirit, u0026amp; there are talented people out their who make great music.
The story behind this band could be the lyrics from a great country song.
- A pair of boots carried a guitar u0026amp; a guy called Hunter Begley into Old Fort NC.
- Casey Kristofferson has a loft in that small town.
- Hunter u0026amp; Casey’s friendship is the root of a country music band called Yellow Feather.
The beauty of a country song lies in its simplicity, after all.
Yellow Feather – The band consists of:
Hunter Begley – Guitar u0026amp; Vocals
Casey Kristofferson – Harmonies, Lyrics
Charlie Willis – Lap steel
Rob Parks – Base
Genre – Americana / Roots Country
Debut Album And Gold, was recorded in Asheville, NC’s Echo Mountain Studios
Produced by Nashville’s own Rory Carroll
Guest appearances from artists
- Lyndsay Pruitt (fiddle, Jon Stickley Trio)
- Aaron Lee Tasjan (guitar)
- Brian White (electric guitar)
- Jimmy Rowland (keys) ………………..
and more. It seems as if musicians pop in u0026amp; out as they are called or just arrive and stay a while.
Echo 38 shared one of their vids on YouTube. You might need to disable any popup blockers for this site to see the content. Some of these pop up blocking programs are overzealous (whitelisting us only takes a moment.)
Yellow Feather – Swallow You Down
Casey Coolidge Kristofferson
Legend says that her talented parents named their first child the day after they met. They were together 8 years, married for 6 of them. There is a lot of information on this site about Kris Kristofferson, so let’s look at Rita Coolidge.
Anyone can see what attracted the couple to each other. Kris’ Me u0026amp; Bobby McGee was flying high, so he was living the life. Rita was strikingly gorgeous. Slim, great skin u0026amp; long hair with features anyone would envy. One source says that her father was a Cherokee minister in the Baptist church and that her mother was of Cherokee-Scottish stock.
Certainly, she was admired by many eligible men of the day. Stephen Stills, Graham Nash (who wrote Cherokee about Rita), Leon Russell (wrote Delta Lady about Rita), Jim Gordon u0026amp; her current husband Dr. Tatsuya Suda, an academic are some of the men that Rita has been romantically linked with. To know more, you can read her book, which is basically a biography. It does mention Kris, of course, so might be worth a look anyway. Rita is an artist in her right – a two-time Grammy Award-winning singer.

Casey Coolidge Kristofferson
In a 2016 report, Casey is described as Casey Coolidge Kristofferson, a mother of 3. In this candid interview Casey was 3 years old. It’s a great insight into the lifestyle of the day, u0026amp; when looking back the social norms of the day are an important context.
Later, media became more intrusive, and reports like this became a thing of the past.
I was going to write more about Casey Coolidge Kristofferson. Really all we need to know that she has very talented parents, and now sings in a band.
Kris Kristofferson once said that his children can do anything they want to. That they are free because his love is unconditional.
Casey is recording music right now and choosing not to lean on the popularity of her parents.
Like any great country song, perhaps the sound of Yellow Feather should speak for itself.
