Dreams. Mythic, mystical travels that we take unshackled by the restraints of everyday life – They whisk us off when we least expect it, yet turn to ether when we want them to take us away.
Writers are a special lot – They capture experiences that could be our own, then they serve them up to us. When they get it right, it’s hard to believe the experience wasn’t ours.
Forest got this one right.
A few in our group were quite happy to edit themselves in – Including me! We resisted temptation though, and the piece is shared as provided by the author.
Riddled Redheads and Bold Boulder
by Forest M Roy
I had an interesting dream last night. Me and a strange riddle speaking redhead picked Kris up near the mouth of Boulder Canyon in a beat yellow Gremlin.
Kris was waiting for us at a bus stop with a fist full of new songs that he’d written – on what looked like a whole pad of yellow legal paper. He was sporting a week’s worth of stubble and wearing the same brown leather coat he has on for the cover of the “Silver Tongued Devil and

An unlit smoke was hanging from his lips as he leafed through them and told us that he’d been holed up in an abandoned house in the woods for the last five days writing his guts out.
He was about to hand them to me so I could look through when my cat woke me up with a claw ever so gently fish-hooking at my nostril.
I know it was just a dream but I sure wish I could’ve gotten a good look at what was on those pages –

Kristofferson Dreams – Response
Melody: Great dream. Naughty kitty! I had one particular Kris dream that seemed so real that I still wonder about it. I was walking about fifteen feet behind him, too shy to approach him, just happy to be where I was. He stopped and turned around and looked right at me. He just tilted his head and said to ‘keep doing what you’re doing. I’m glad I could be of help. I know.’
It was like he knew me…He was very kind. I hated to wake up! I think I’d been listening to A Moment of Forever and it got into my subconscious or something.
Melanie: Such a great dream! I too, am upset that the cat awoke you too soon. Sorry about your nostril.
Lisa: I love – love those types of dreams. That’s soooo cool!!!
Minerva: Did he happen to mention me being in that abandoned house with him? The songs were about our love story. Didn’t want you to lose sleep wondering how the story ends.
