My son Callum and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh and the show and have made some memories. Callum has applied to join the military and this was a last little break away before he embarks on his new life.
Sue Verrall Usher Hall Edinburgh

A review by Sue Verrall

I want to share my experience of Kris’ show at the Usher Hall on Tuesday night. It’s a bit lengthy, but you can’t condense a magical night like that into a couple of lines.

My evening started whilst I was in Nandos, next to the Hall, when Scott (Joss) and his wife Judy walked in. I was so excited and wanted to go over and talk to them, but wasn’t sure I should as they are entitled to some privacy whilst having dinner. Scott later told me I really should have said “Hi!”

The doors opened and we found our seats. We were in the 5th row and I was thrilled to be so close to the stage. The lights went down and Kris, Scott, Doug and Jeff walked on to the stage.

The audience erupted with applause and shouts and whistles. Kris commented on the welcome he received. I remember squeezing my sons hand and realised I had tears running down my face.

Kris was there – Right in front of me!

They kicked off with Shipwrecked in the ’80s. Kris the introduced the band, but to be honest I didn’t hear much as the audience was cheering so loudly. We settled down and Kris went from song to song. Too many to name them all, but all the classics were there. The look on my son’s face was priceless as Kris sang Caseys Last Ride which is his favourite.

Scott also sang, That’s the way Love Goes, and a new favourite of mine How far to Jordan. Doug (Colosio) sang Daddy Frank which was also very good.

Kris looked very relaxed and …. Happy. He kept looking over to Scott and saying “Wow!”
A couple of times I thought Kris was looking right at me, though I’m sure everyone thinks that. My son felt the same, too.

The audience was brilliant. You could certainly feel the love for Kris in that room. The audience joined Kris in song on a couple of choruses. It was quite wonderful.

Kris then said “one more song ” and started to sing Please Don’t tell me How the Story Ends. It was a sad moment. I just didn’t want the night to end.

A few people rushed to the stage to shake hands with Kris. Scott moved very quickly to monitor this and to get Kris off stage otherwise he would have been there forever. Just before he left the stage Kris looked back at his audience and the massive smile on his face will stay with me forever!

We made our way to the merchandise stall that Judy set up. I bought a signed photo of Kris along with Scott’s new CD. (It features Kris singing on some of the tracks, too)

Judy said to hang around a bit and Scott would be out for a meet and greet.

Scott had a lot of time for everyone who wanted to meet him. He chatted, signed CDs and posed for photos. He is such a nice man, a wonderful singer and awesome on the fiddle.

My son Callum and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh and the show and have made some truly wonderful memories. He has applied to join the military and this was a last little break away before he embarks on his new life. Sharing this experience of Kris’ show with him has been wonderful for me.

Thank you so much to Kris, Scott, the guys and of course, Judy.
